The Thread that Binds
Thread that Binds
16 x 18 inch
oil painting on Gold leaf
This is a feminist Icon. A wounded Goddess who, with her magic thread, heals herself.
The painting changes as the light and eye move. Giving it a dancing visual quality. The reflectivity means it will blend with any room.
Ariadne (/ˌæriˈædni/; Greek: Ἀριάδνη; Latin: Ariadne) was a Cretan princess in Greek mythology. She was mostly associated with mazes and labyrinths because of her involvement in the myths of the Minotaur and Theseus. She is best known for having helped Theseus escape the Minotaur but being abandoned by him on the island of Naxos; subsequently, she became the wife of Dionysus.
